UPDATE ON SDIV
SDIV is the month-old baby of GlobalX Funds, dedicated to collecting dividends from the world's 100 highest dividends payers. GlobalX has declared and will pay its first monthly dividend on Wednesday, July 13. This first dividend, covering approximately its first three weeks, annualizes to about 5%. My incomplete back-of-the-envelope estimate is that when it is warmed up and running full bore, SDIV may pay ~8% annualized.

SDIV has about 10% of assets in US mortgage REITs, so I have partially trimmed my large ANH position after it recently went ex-dividend.Anther GlobalX fund I have is CNPF which holds Canadian preferred issues, largely of Canadian banks. I have paired this one with JTP, Nuveen Quality Preferred Inc, which is a ~20% leveraged US preferred stock fund with a good history and trading at a discount. PFF is a US ETF also holding preferred stocks. I do not own it.
My other GlobalX fund is GGGG, the world fund of gold-only miners. This fund is hard to buy due to low volume to date, and I have only a small position to supplement VGPMX and ASA and gold metal.
